There are two kinds of...

... Blogger. One who blogs frequently, one who doesn't.
Obviously, I belong to the latter.

Apologies for disappearing for 2+ weeks. I think writing (or blogging for that matter) is akin to a computer system. No input, no output. I'm only able to write when I have something in my head. I only have something in my head if some external stimuli provokes me. So busy I have been with work that I've been quite out of touch with the external world. I think I am almost glued to the computer and looking at Java for far too long. Sob. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to end-May, where I'll be able to throw everything else aside and go for my long-awaited trip to the land Down Under! More about this later!

... Drunkard. One who gets quieter, one who gets noisier.
This was from a friend who brought me to a drinking bar one fine evening.

I was supposed to accompany her for a drink but it ended up being a little lesson on alcohol for me. My friend ordered several kinds of alcohol of different concoctions that look so colorful and interesting to me. She could drink and appreciate the alcohol. Not me! I only managed to suck in the last drop of everything that she had just to "check them out". The only memorable ones were probably Hoegaarden and Baileys.

"I like the ice-cream-y taste of Baileys" and my friend rolled her eyes at that, "you are supposed to enjoy the alcohol in it!" "The rest tasted like medicine to me" and my friend pointed out she didn't mind medicine that tasted like that. Hohoho!

Honestly, I'm awfully curious about which kind of drunkard I belong to. But the tough part will be getting me drunk first because, honestly, I think I'll never come to like the taste of alcohol, let alone drink.

My friend got a little noisier at the end. But I didn't have to worry because her dad came to drive us both home :P

How mobile phones can change the world

Mobile phones are now ubiquitous entities.

Leveraging on this ubiquity, we might be able to do all the things that we can do, anytime and anywhere, while on the go!

Will this happen?

My interns

Since June last year, I had been assigned as advisor to 2 batches of interns at my company. They're from my alma mater too.

I couldn't help the first batch very much as I was still a greenhorn myself. The second and current batch, are more like my team mates, working with me on projects. They also happen to be my students when I was a TA for CS1104 :o)

They had to submit an interim report and I offered to help them proofread it. Reading their reports reminded me of myself when I was an undergrad - a little naive, a little childish.

I like the Acknowledgements section the most :P
Let me be a little narcistic here hee hee..

"... is my advisor of the ATAP program. Being knowledgeable and helpful, she has been always guiding me and helping me whenever I encounter any difficulties throughout the whole program. I have solved many problems with her help and learnt many useful thinking skills from her."

"... our direct supervisor of the ATAP programme in the host company. Knowledgeable and helpful, she has always been guiding us throughout these three months. Whenever there is anything unsure, she is always the right person to approach to. I have solved many problems under her help, and have learnt new knowledge and developed useful thinking skills."

My pleasure :D
